About the Nordic Championships

The Nordic Rally Obedience Championship takes place every year between the four Nordic countries, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark. The championship includes a team competition as well as an individual competition. Each country poses with a team of five handlers and their dogs.

On day 1 of the championship (Saturday) the country teams compete in 2 rounds. The day ends with an award ceremony for the Nordic Rally Obedience Championship Team Winner 2025.

Day 2 is the day of the individual finales. Each handler/dog enters the final according to hers or his individual results the day before and all finalists compete . By the end of the final competition, the results of the final round and the results of the rounds the day before are summed up and an individual Nordic Rally Obedience Champion is proclaimed.

The championships are held under the international Rules and Regulations of FCI (Federation Gynologique Internationale) If you are not familiar with  Rally Obedience and FCI Rally Obedience in particular, please check out FCI’s official website for futher information.

Judgement

The contest is judged by four judging teams – a judge from each of the four countries assisted by a secretary placed. The four judging teams are placed on the longside around the course

After the round all four judgements are summed up and constitutes the final score. In the event of a tie, there will be an elimination round. If that round results in another tie, the winner will be the one having made the fastest round.

Handlers and Dogs

Each country enters with a team of 5 handlers. Each handler has a catalogue number to identify them by. The catalogue number follows the handler throughout the championships but the order in which the handler is to enter the course varies with each round accourding to the start list. Start lists will be published in the morning as will the the course.

You will find a list of catalogue numbers here. When startlists are drawn they will be published on the same page.

The Course

A course consists of signs with exercises clustered into four degrees of difficulty, from 1 to 4 points.  A course has to contain at least 7 of the 4 point signs and 5 of the 3 point signs. In total the length of the course is 18-20 signs not counting Start and Finish signs. A specifik sign/exercise must only be used twice in a course.

Prior the the competition each judge will design af course and there will be a random draw to determine which course to use in the next round. The actual course is published prior to every round together with the start list.
